Oh, yeah, I forgot to say: The Duncan designed stuff is no where near as good as the actual Duncan stuff.

Hey dude, start posting in Guitars & Basses. Nobody fights there, and everyone is very knowledgeable.

For the guitar, just find one you like. Play everything you can in every shop you can, and buy the one that speaks in your voice. Both Schecter and Jackson make fine guitars, but your Epi is probably just fine.

For pickups, if you want a little more output, but also a lot of versitility, go with the Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz combo. It's the most popular after market pickup combination on the market, and for good reason. It will serve you well.
