  • Hi Skippy, I've just being reading your post on the audio-buddy phantom voltage drop-out thread.
I've just bought an audio-buddy on eBay - not yet received it.
I want to use it off of batteries. i.e. run it from dc, away from mains.
I assumed that they have given it an ac adaptor so that they could transform the ac input up to 48volts ac and then rectify it to give the phantom power rail.
But you mention that they generate the 48V via a charge pump.
So is the 9v ac input just rectified and smoothed as soon as it meets the board.
In other words can you run the audio buddy direct from 9v DC?
Thought that you might be the guy to ask!!
No worries if your too busy.
    thanks, Chris.
