Resist We Much
See, you went and muddied it up again for me. What "historian" are you even talking about? Actually, it doesn't matter. Totally irrelevant. Part of Putin's justification to invade Ukraine is to "de-Nazi" the country. It sounds like you think that's a good idea. If so, shouldn't he invade the US to de-Nazify us? Makes sense by your rationale.
Yeah, I did look back after posting and, although I put in quite a lot of information to illustrate a point, I unintentionally left out some information which might have made that point more clear. Fair enough, muddled it a bit. I did anticipate "you think that is a good idea" response(s).
Wasn't my point, or thinking out loud observation, which didn't matter. The observation was that, although Ukraine actually has incorporated actual white supremacists and Nazi types into its military, and actually has aligned politicians within its government, the (propaganda) memo, talking point or what have you is out......the US is chocked full of white supremacists and KKK types who are a larger threat! In fact the historian in question makes the statement that...
"Neo-Nazi, far right and xenophobic groups do exist in Ukraine, like pretty much any other country, including Russia. They are vocal and can be prone to violence but are numerically small, marginal and their political influence at the state level is non-existent. But I would consider the KKK in the US and skinheads and neo-Nazi groups in Russia a much bigger problem and threat than the Ukrainian far right."
..which is a distortion, a falsity, a lie. Keep in mind that the material I quoted comes from a "fact checker" website. The fact of the matter is, the KKK is here in the US is absolutely small in number(if not nearly non-existent), thoroughly and absolutely marginalized, and their political influence at the state level is completely non-existent. In Ukraine?....there are is at minimum one military unit in its military made up entirely of neo-Nazi xenophobic types who are being armed to the teeth by the international effort to defeat Russia's aggression. There are Ukraine politicians serving in Ukraine's government who are aligned with those types. How do we know this? In part we know this because human rights type groups have been monitoring the situation and sounding the alarm of findings. Well, they were. Now? Well now those facts are deemed false information used by the right here in the US to defend their friend Putin....you know, Orange Man Bad's friend. See IBB's post(s), he spouting the same bullshit. All illustrative of the bullshit coming from the left and propped up by "fact checkers". Fact checkers I might add that are utilized, tools to shut down "disinformation" and support the desired narrative. But you know, just like "science", reliable information and facts can often change, as more "facts" are gathered. See the desired narrative.
I should also mention, and to your point, if the US is lumped in with Russia as a "threat", given all the KKK running rampant and not marginalized, and not non-existent within governmental influence, is the international community up to the task of responding to that threat? Should they not? I mean seriously, if Trump runs again, and wtf?, wins.....perhaps that is the tipping point and something got to be done? The left insanity....."nuke us, it's the only way to stop the Orange Man Bad!"
Anyway, just an observation, somewhat humorous. Pardon the long post, hopefully didn't further muddle my intended point. Hope all is well and life is treating you good.
