Mixing and Mastering help

I just got my new mic it's a MXL 990 with a M Audio Preamp and I'm using AA 3 but I have no idea how to mix and master. I was having my boy do it but I decided to do it on my own and I'm completely lost.

Then you need to learn it. It's not something you just jump into on a forum... It can easily take years - and sometimes decades - just to find that you don't even have the aptitude for it.

Otherwise - Start here: http://tweakheadz.com/guide.htm -- Chew on that for a few years and see how it goes. And don't worry about mastering... Tracking is everything. Mixing is everything after that. Mastering, even by the best mastering engineers on the planet, is going to be limited in potential by the earlier stages.
