...
hi everyone.

fairly straight forward question here.

i use a digi 003 an havent got around to buyin adat expansion yet.

i have a band coming in next week looking a 6 or 7 mic setup on their drumkit.

im going to run overheads <sm81> into channel 1+2 on the digi,

and snare and bass into channels 3+4.

the question is should the toms <dynamic> go straight into channels 5,6+7 on the digi 003,

or should i go into my behringer mixer, and run the direct outs into 5,6+7 on the digi.

i like having the gain/eq control by use of a mixer, but behringer does kinda suck.

just thought i'd ask what you guys would do in this situation.

Thanks.

well, you're gonna need the preamps of the Behringer aren't you?

sounds like a fair enough answer to a stupid question.

feel free to strip me of rep points :P:P

thanks..

I had the same problem befor...If I was you I would not use the behringer mixer if you dont have to...I have a behringer mixer and the preamps suck...Try only useing two mic's for tom's...thats all you need...let the overheads worry about the stereo effect!!! Hope I helped a little!!

unfortunately it wont help.i'll still be occupying my four digi preamps with

o/h left, o/h right, bass and snare.

i'll try it out as a four mic setup and see how well it goes.

if tom mics are required i'll use the behringer.

thanks for the reply :)

sorry, i did not think about only 4 pre;s on the digi!!!

Just use 1 mic for the two rack toms and, one for the floor!!!

If you have to use the behringer..no problem..you do what you have to do..Im sure you can het it sounding good..I bet no one will be able to tell when the mix is done.I love that all the behringer haters cant tell the difference between my grace design preamp in a mix or the behringer!!!:)

cheers for that,

it'll be going onto my webspace, so we'll see how many people say "are those toms through a behringer mixer?" :P:P
