Is the singer strange or is it me? Help

OK guys I'm totally new here. I m from France. I have this band here which is currently recording vocals in my studio. I have a funny request. I would like you to comment on the singer. He is mostly american. Is there something wrong with his accent or is it just me? It 's probably me but I trust your "english" ears hehe. Feel free to comment on the recording of the voice. Bare in mind this just a rough mix with just a compressor and a little reverb. Ignore the buzzing sound in the end. thanks

Doesn't sound strange to me, although at 1:38 he's way out of tune. One to watch. ;)

I'm getting a bit of a Damon Albarn and James Dean Bradfield vibe from him sometimes. Is he British?
 
He's got a good voice but I find it sounds the same throughout this song - not much vocal range exhibited. Just a few pitchy spots.
 
You're French? Do you speak German by any chance?

He sounds American to me? He could use more "color" He seems well suited to this song/style.

I would color him w/some delay, and verb.
