Still Colleagues
Putting on a brave face
Making like I’m fine
How d’you do good morning how have you been
Travelling the railway every day the same way
Never let the guard down and be seen
Office party outbreaks hide and seek for my sake
Keep the crying in and out the way
Disguise the way I’m feeling
Past years have no meaning
Tell myself I’ll make it through the day

But every night I go to bed to sleep I recite her (his) name
I dream we’re still together and forever the same
In morning my reflection in the mirror maintains
Here comes the pain

Plastic smiles on my face
Running with the crowd
Making like the hurt has gone away
Visit all the places see the same old faces
She and I won’t talk of yesterday
Eating out in restaurants dinner party head counts
Single chairs set out at different ends
Casual conversations
Weather and vacations
Together now we’re never more than friends

Then every night I go to bed to sleep I recite her(his) name
I dream we’re still together and forever the same
In morning my reflection in the mirror maintains
Here comes the pain

Every night I go to bed to sleep I recite her (his) name
I dream we’re still together and forever the same
In morning my reflection in the mirror maintains
Here comes the pain

Here comes the pain

Here comes the pain

My rule of thumb is "When in doubt, go with male vocals".

Nice lyric by the way. Some nice rhyming schemes. There are a few spots I might change. These two lines are perhaps the weakest:

Keep the crying in and out the way

In morning my reflection in the mirror maintains

Your second verse has some really great lines:

Eating out in restaurants dinner party head counts
Single chairs set out at different ends
Casual conversations
Weather and vacations
Together now we’re never more than friends

If this were my songs I would make the second verse the first verse and write a new second verse that moves the story along a little better. As it is they are kind of repeating the same thing.

How about this: first verse is talking about the office, and second verse talks about the guy at home getting ready for bed. He still has her picture on teh nightstand, her things in the medicine cabinet, toothbrush next to his, etc, etc, everything just like she left it.

Just a thought.
