looping vocal in a live situation...

I know it has been done by Reggie Watts. But he doesn't have a drummer. So Is it possible for a vocalist to make loops of his/her singing in a band(drums+other intruments) situation? What kind of microphone is best suited for that (super noise-suppression ability)?

Any digital delay with long enough delay times would be able to do that.

The problem would be that the mic would pick up the band too.

In the 80's, when the SPX90 came out we started using pitch shift at gigs. We programmed it to come on with a sequencer. I remember doing "Tequila" and we had it shift our vocals down an octave so that in the hole where you say "Tequlia!" we would sound like Darth Vader, the trouble was, our mics picked up the whole song and put that down an octave and it sounded terrible.

That would be your problem I think, and unless you were in an iso booth I don't see anyway around it... :(

I looped vocals with a Boomerang before.

Not great results though. The Boomerang uses pretty minimal samples, so something that you'd want really clear results from (like vox) comes through lo-fi and distorted.
