i know in america you can send off a tape of songs with a form and pay $30 or something to have them copyrighted, but is there a similar system for the UK? I don't want to have to rely on an unopened package.
I don't know where in the UK you have to go for copywrite protection. I did a quick search through an engine and only found companies. Here in the US the Library of Congress (LOC) handles it ( http://www.loc.gov/ ). People of other nationalities can register with the LOC and it will cover them if we have a copywrite treaty with them. We have one with the UK. Just follow the link above.
