I'm not really sure if this is the best place to put this question, but I couldn't decide. Anyway, I was wondering where I could get a church bell-dong sound that so many rock bands seem to use. I have no idea where to start... I don't know much about samples or whatever is used...obviously I am not going to ring a real church bell. Thanks.

are you talking like AC/DC Hells Bells or Metallica For Whom The Bell Toles? I would find a wav sample in the net or steal it from a CD.

Most keyboards have a bell sound. They tend to sound a little synthy though. I agree that your best bet is to find a sample CD or sound effect CD with a good bell sound. It should not be that hard to find one since it is kind of a staple. If you steal one off a CD, make sure you have permission and give credit if you plan to use it commercially. If you're just making this song for your own enjoyment, steal away!
