I once had a large list of people that sold gear but that was in my old computer.

Sweetwater is a big seller, b&h audio is one I have used.

I would like to find a complete list of sellers to use to track down harder to find items but also for comparison of prices especially sales when they occur.

does anybody know of a large list of retailers that sell audio home recording related gear.

even those that specialise in something like plug ins is useful but mainly looking for larger complete line retailers who have a range of products you can compare for choosing from.

Screenshot of my collection. Bought mostly from B&H and Sweetwater, occasionally from MF if it's a good deal. Alto has refurbs once in a while that have been good deals. If you buy from Front End Audio you'll get on their mail list for 15% off deals. I've picked up a couple decent mics at 15% off.

Well...Google won't have "list" of sellers....but it will help you create your list.
You type in the name of some audio gear, and then look at what sellers come up under the Shopping option.

I've got a 20-year "list" in my bookmarks...but it's so big, that I have to then search my list with all those sellers...so instead, I just search Google by the item(s) I'm looking for, which is often a more accurate list, for that moment.
At this point...I have a mental list of the sellers I use most, and also the few specialty sellers that carry the odd things I need occasionally...but every now and then Google will kick up 1-2 new sellers that I didn't know existed.

I was hoping to find the list of sellers without having to search for every piece of gear separately.

And how do I search for something new that I do not know exists ??

I have found wonderful software by browsing vendor sites but without that serendipity I never would have known about them.

How do you know you need it in order to search for it if you don't know it exists?

    really ?

how do i know i wont need it once i discover it does exist ??

    that is how progress happens
    new stuff comes along
and you find out about it
then decide if it is useful or not
sometimes it is very helpful to have the new stuff

You know you're going to need it...always.
I have never purchased a single piece of audio gear that I didn't need...at the time of purchase.

What happens later on...well...how did I know I didn't really need it...without purchasing it to find out!

What exactly are you looking for...or think you are looking for?
