It wasn't specifically in my list, but don't forget B&H has a used audio section. I've bought a bunch of their used gear and most times like new.

Guitar Center also has a decent used section...though they tend to lean mostly toward the guitar/bass/amp type of gear, but you can also find recording stuff too.
I've only bought a couple of guitars out of their used section.

I have never purchased a single piece of audio gear that I didn't need...at the time of purchase.

What happens later on...well...how did I know I didn't really need it...without purchasing it to find out!

What exactly are you looking for...or think you are looking for?
    i dont need anything
and i do not always know that i would need it until i see it

but there may be faster better cheaper ways of doing what i want to do

maybe i could do something new that i dont try because of limitations
dont really need it but it would be nice to have the option

mostly i am looking at software
i keep getting amazed at how much better it can do things than what i already have

I've done GC once and MF a few times on used gear. The time I bought used from GC was a acoustic guitar preamp pedal. They had the picture posted and description and the price was OK. I got it and it was an entirely different pedal than ordered. Called the store to get an RMA and the manager I got didn't know how to do one even though shipped from his store. Three or four calls later ending up talking to GC 'headquarters' I got an RMA to return it. I could have returned it to a local GC, but not on my time and gas cost. Maybe a rare occurrence, but happening once leaves a bad taste. MF has been OK on used with exception of a 'blemished' electric/acoustic guitar I bought that had an almost dead piezo element on just the G string (split PU setup EADG/BE). Return was easy enough, but PIA reboxing and shipping. MF put it back on their site as a blem again about a day after receiving it back and I presume unfixed as repair parts would need to come from the manufacturer. Even though GC and MF are supposedly one and the same, the local GC couldn't take a guitar back that was sold by MF to save me from reboxing and driving to a UPS ship location.

    Two words - Plugin Alliance

I've got almost everything they have, with only a few exceptions...and there isn't a single bad or mediocre piece of software the came from them.
Currently, most of my plugins used for mixing is their stuff. There's a few things I use from a few other vendors, but it's mostly Plugin Alliance, which is actually a conglomerate of several top-shelf software companies like SPL, elysia, Maag, with Brainworx heading the list.

I also have a huge pile of Waves stuff, which I was buying well before Plugin Alliance came along...but TBH, I no longer use too many of my Waves plugs. There's instances where one of their plugs is a good choice...etc...but for the most part, the Plugin Alliance stuff is simply better, and I've become more familiar with it, so I use it the most.

PA plugs are not cheap...but they constantly run sales. Just the last couple of weeks they had one-day sales for $29 on a couple of things that usually list for a couple of hundred...but you need to join up and then you are on their email list and you get notifications and deals sent to you. Also come the holidays they do extensive sales. Plus, once you sign up with them and start buying, they also issue out monthly vouchers at different amounts, based on how much you spend, and how much of a user you are. These days I get all their best deals because I own so many of their plugs, plus add in the vouchers...and I'm buying brand new issued plugs that cost $200-$300...for like $50.

It maybe not be the kind of software you want...but they do 14-day, fully-functioning free demos of all their stuff...so you can try everything before you buy anything.

I know they sell the returns as blems or open box...but how do they take in used gear when there is no brick-n-mortar stores for MF that would take in the used gear on trade-ins and such...?...or is their "used" gear just the blems/open box stuff?

Yeah, not really used, used gear, but a blem or open box is usually something that was returned, either new or had a problem, so 'used' in that sense.

SWEETWATER...they also have tech support that knows computers and different DAWs... they also have available remote assistance that can help set drivers and such or work out any bugs, when you can't get hold of the manufacturers support , which is often the case
