And what about a roll of fibreglass as a bass trap?

I've got a couple of large rolls of loft\attic insulation fibreglass..the rolls are probably three feet or more in radius and about four feet tall. If I covered these rolls in nice open fabric would they work as good bass traps in a corner?

Don't know for sure but I'd guess not. You'd get some absorption from the fiberglass but no bass-trapping resonance. The principle behind an absorber is the sealed air space which resonates. Your roll of insulation won't create a sealed space and therefore won't resonate and trap any bass frequencies.

I remember reading on this bbs abt someone wrapping fibreglass around chicken wire to get a bass trap. Dont have the link to that thread here...mebbe someone else can help.
cheers!

What about Auralex corner traps, then?

Thanks chaps! So when Auralex et al sell you their corner bass traps, which are just big triangular chunks of foam as far as I can see, are we saying they don't work?...or only a little bit?
