I'm moving my studio to an upstairs bedroom - small, but I've been promised that I can toss all the accumulated junk in there, so ultimately it'll be just for my music. It's a typical upstairs room in a small cape style house - 7' high in the center four feet of the ceiling (textured ceiling), kneewalls at either side, one chunk lost to a small closet and another to a bathroom. I've ended up with a "L" shaped room with about 10' x 11' useable space. Sort of. There's carpet on the floor and skylights. I have an air conditioner unit that cools the place down in about ten minutes when it's really hot outside. Any ideas, other than setting up the desk in more or less the center of the room?
