Sound Stopper Acoustic Panel - anyone tried these?

I can't imagine that stuff actually does what is claimed. If it did they'd offer hard data showing its effectiveness in third-octave bands.

Hard to say with no data. It might do a little good at some frequencies but I doubt it would do much of anything in the bottom end.

Hi,

I think you will find that this product will in fact reduce the sound transmission and will be surprisingly good with bass.

I have not used this product but have used leaded vinyl (the stuff sandwiched inside the foam) on my studio doors and the sound loss was impressive. I also used this vinyl on the wall of a power station control room where there was noisy equipment outside, it worked for that too. Suspending the lead in foam does make it more efficient.

You may find the foam covering the whole wall changes the acoustics of the room a fair bit though.

I would however ask for specs and check that it does the job you need it to do.

Cheers

Alan.
