"Portable" Rack / Mixing Desk w/ wings

You guys are incredible! This is some absolutely fantastic work I've seen done on the studioes and furniture built by those on this board!

I need some advice. I want to build a rack cabinet on casters with a desktop and some form of monitor stands. I look forward to designing this thing myself, and as time goes by, I'm sure I'll have some materials questions and whatnot for you guys.

The first thing I'm curious about is software for designing. Is there a good FREE Windows CAD package any of you use that I can play around with?

My portable rig is the normal square rack. I just put a typical hard guitar case on top which provides space for monitors and mixer :)
