Laptop noise

Hey,

So whats the best way of stopping my laptop fan noise ruining my recordings.
I use an Apple Macbook, but every time I record vocals the noise of it is horrendous!

I have to record in the same room which is not ideal, I'm also about to put up some panels around my room because of the very bad acoustics, but the laptop noise how do I kill it?!

Cheers

It will probably overheat too.

I made some baffles from PVC and moving blankets. You could probably make a small "box" frame, maybe 2' x 2' from PVC and then stack blankets and pillows around it to muffle the sound. That should give it enough air to keep from overheating while you are tracking.

If you have a closet close by, you may be able to rig up a deal with extension cables (video, usb to mouse and external keyboard) where you can run it 'remote'. I do that with my pc and it works great.

Here are pics of my baffles and my 'pc closet'.
