Ideas for home studio design?

Hi there,

i've lurked around here a while ago, just for research purposes (my job is basically an audio engineer) but now that i'm moving into a new house where i can actually organise some sort of home setup, i'm gonna try and do it right - which is why i thought should ask for some advice from you guys ;)

Here is a pic of the room i will be using - dimensions are 24' 9" x 9' ( 7.54m x 2.74m ):

Just looking more for positioning advice really - i don't like the look of those sloping ceilings, so where should i put my monitors for a start?

Any ideas would be much appreciated! I'm not sure if i'm up for the idea of building the whole "room inside a room" thing, but at any rate i have a set of headphones for when the noise is too much for my other half to take

I doubt that i'll be allowed to use the whole room since we want to put a TV/playstation/sofa in there for guests aswell :D but i guess that i could probably take up around half of the room for my own space

My equipment list is pretty "whack", but hopefully i can still get some decent electronica written (breaks/drum 'n bass/liquid funk). So far i've just been using Fruity Loops (or FL Studio as it's now known) but i've been collecting bits over the years so this is what i have so far :

Spirit "Absolute Zero" monitors
Akai stereo a/v receiver amp
JVC 32 band stereo EQ
Studiomaster Diamond 12-2 Channel Pro Studio Club Mixer

Desktop PC with EMU 0404
Korg Electribe EA-1
Korg Electribe ER-1
Yamaha SU700 Sampler
Spirit Folio Notepad mixer
Roland JX-1 keyboard
Yamaha PSR xxx (has vector synthesis and 8 drum pads!)
360 systems bass sequencer

Yamaha RGX Guitar
Semi-acoustic guitar
Korg G3 Guitar FX unit (oldskool)
100 watt amp/celestion cab

2x Technics 1210MkII turntables (with Gemini 626 "pro" mixer  )
+ loads of records, CDs and tapes (say 1000 of each)

Thanks!
Rob
