$10 Electric Knife (for cutting foam)

Just wanted to share that Wal-Mart has a Black and Decker Electric Knive for just under $10. Compare that to the Oster one at Target that's $19.99.

Yep! It works!

Went to Walmart, picked up the Black and Decker electric knife (you know... the one you carve turkey's with!) and it works excellent on acoustic foam. I've been easily cutting through 2" Wedge foam and it doesn't leave a messy edge! My wife got that trick from a home improvement show.

Go figure!

Yeah, it's what Auralex reccomends on their site. It's what we've always used in our studio builds but I didn't have one at home. The phrase "cuts like a knife through warm butter" is apt.

They work good for cutting rigid fiberglass too, if you have to cut it to fit around a difficult shape. Fiberglass will dull them though.

Will it still cleanly slice a tomato after it's done with all your foam and stuff?
