QUESTION 1 - Anyone notice anything odd when using the front panel 3.5 mm input? I rarely use it except for the odd time a buddy comes over with an ipod. But lately, I have been using it more, as I got me an ipad, and am playing around with guitar apps and interfaces. Here is my Tascam question...
When I have:
guitar --> interface (eg Apogee Jam) --> iPad (dock connector)
and iPad headphone out --> front panel jack on mixer --> PA, i its a bit noisy/distorted
...but if I bypass the mixer, and have
guitar --> interface (eg Apogee Jam) --> iPad (dock connector)
and iPad headphone out --> aux-in on a PA, i, its' perfect.
Curious why the mixer is adding so much noise. I am not too too concenred, as I will typically using the latter configuration for the "bring your guitar to the cottage" scenario.
QUESTION 2 - The ipad is of course quite cool, and I will be incorporating it into my normal setup using a USB connection, ie
guitar --> Rp155 modeler (on clean) via USB to --> iPad (dock connector)
and Rp155 modeler (on clean) via 1/4 outputs --> Mixer --> PA
consistent with the setup here :RP to iPad | DigiTech Guitar Effects
Anyone try this out yet??
