Vocal Processing on a Kenny Chesney song

There is a Kenny Chesney song - Anything But Mine - that at the end of the song, the vocal sounds like it was recorded in the 40's (that thin, metallic sound.

Does anyone know the technique used? It may be as simple as a very lo-fi mic with some EQ - but I would like to achieve that same effect on a recording.

It's a common technique and relatively easy to achieve.

Just apply an EQ and cut off everything below 300hz and everything above 3khz.

Thanks for the reply! I suspected it it was basically an EQ trick. I did as you suggested and it did what I wanted - thanks!
