I was wondering about buying a channel strip like the EUREKA and then going to my AD DA converter ( presonus or ada 8000 ) .

my setup is completely ADAT OPTICAL using this units as converters for any analog signal and then to my EMU 1212 . so my question is if I use a channel strip like the eureka or avalon using analog outs pluged to the lets say Behringer ADA 8000 is that a proven method for recording analog to digital ? .

channel strip (analog) to ADDA converter (optical digital) to emu1212 to platform .

thanks

Um ... yea. That's kinda' how it's done.

An even better method would be to just go straight to the analog ins on the EMU. The 1212 probably has better converters than anything with the word "Behringer" on it.

:D

you can buy a channel strip that has optical? then its ADAT OUT goes to your EMU1212 Optical In.

I don't have an optical pre-out and ran my preamp out into the EMU Analog IN, as Daisy said.
