Shure SM7b vs Heil PR40

Hi guys! I need your advice. I want to buy a microphone for recording some demos( acoustic guitar and voice) and for podcasting. My voice is very deep and low, in the Nick Cave style of singing. I use a Scarlett 2i2. What would be a better micro for that purposes. Shure SM7b or Heil PR40. Thanks a lot for the help.

I don't have any experience with the Heil so my advice is worthless there. Not even sure if the advice from so many saying that the SM7b needs 60db gain preamp is even true. I never had a problem, but neither do my preamps.

Try each if you can find a way. It kind of hard to give mic advice with so many variables...

SM7B works great for me with male and female vocals, but then I don't do any podcasting stuff so again, my advice is relative to my personal experience with my situation.

I no damn help at all am I? LOL!

Cheers!

Imma 7b fan and can hardly recall a time where I wasn't. But the PR40 doesn't suck either. 40 definitely has a bit more top, but I prefer the "smoove" of the 7b.
