recording distortion with pod line 6

I'm using the pod line 6 to record distorion guitar direct. No matter how I tweek it, the sound seems to have a hiss to it. I'm using cubase with lexicon core 2, dell dimension 500mhz pIII. Any suggestions or secrets to share? The sound doesn't seem as powerful as it should.Thanks

Are your guitar pickups anywhere near to a computer monitor? Quick solution: Face the other way! Noise goes away.

Have you tried raising the output level of the setting on the POD and lowering it on your computer?
