Recording audio from youtube?

snipmp3.com

Paste the youtube url in the box and click the small gray 'Convert' button to it's right.
The java applet will run and give you a download link.

Do NOT click on the big green/yellow download buttons (if they are still there) or install anything from them, those are ads.

Most audio/CD burning software will allow you to record what the soundcard is hearing - Roxio, Nero are typical CD-burning programs that do this. Hit 'play' on youtube, hit 'record' on the program's recorder.

In the past I've used an spdif loop or soundflower (virtual I/O) to do this.
Tim's suggestion sounds pretty straight forward though!

There are plugins for browsers which rip the audio or video off of almost any site. I seem the remember the ones available for firefox to be particularly easy and effective.

Audacity (which is free) will also do this. I use it from time to time. It records very well. Or you can use a browser plugin for things like Firefox to download an mp4 version and convert that. Either way you'll not get brilliant quality as YouTube video audio isn't that great.
