Question about unshielded patch cables

This might be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway.
Is there any way to turn an unshielded patch cable into a shielded cable?
The method I think might work would be to wrap two layers of aluminum foil around the outside of the cable and tape the hell out of it.
Am I idiotic? Will this maybe work?
I would go out and buy some nice patches but I don't have any money.

Usually copper tape is used, but aluminum is worth a try. Be sure to ground the foil.

You might try the aluminum foil tape that's used for HVAC, probably easier to worth with, if you're looking for something permanent.

An unshielded patch cable is called a SPEAKER cable.

Don't use it - Please...?

Hosa makes some decent and somewhat reliable TRS patch cables for nearly nuttin'.

Bump that. I'll just get some money from some freebie clients tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions.
