My guiar amp is fizzing.....

My Peavey Studio Pro sometimes starts making a fizzing sound, usually when I'm not playing and it's just sitting there. When I AM playing, sometimes the volume jumps up and the good-sounding distortion I have turns into a cheap fuzz-peddly type of distortion.

When I pull a Fonzi and hit it hard on top, it usually goes away and it's fine again.

Wud up wid dat?
 
I was going to go into the Guitar forum to post this, but those guys play way too loud. :D

If you never hear from me again, it will be because I killed myself while checking my wires. :D

I'm pretty useless electronically. But it's probably a connection you figure?
