tapeop.com < free and amazing - all dedicated to home recording

+1. TapeOp mag is truely amazing... by far and away the highest content to ad space of any audio magazine published. Pros get as much from this rag as home recordists do.

I'd also recommend Electronic Musician, and Mix.

Mix may appear to have information about equipment and techniques that are more "pro" oriented, but most pro engineers, musicians, producers and publishers had humble beginnings, and every bit of info you can gleen along the way will be useful to you.

;)

I like Sound On Sound a lot...buy it every month. Future Music is ok too. for thr multilingual people: Keys is a great German mag.

And if you should be interested in hip hop production, buy Scratch...really cool.

damn I'm such a gear mag junkie hahaha :D

is tape op also available for people in europe like me?

It is ... but it costs $80 a year !

It's a bit weird that a free US mag costs so much overseas ?!

My dad gets Mix, EQ and Electronic Musician. I promptly steal them from him. He got a couple issues of Future Music, which seems good, although geared to the electronic music genre.
