backing tracks live.

I have been thinking of how I would get backing tracks sequenced so I can play to them in a live setting.

The only thing I can think of is to burn them to c.d. and plug the c.d. player into a p.a. system.

There has to be a better way, or a unit that holds recorded music.

I will be solo playing to backing tracks I have recorded hopefully.

Put the tracks on a laptop. You can use a gazillion apps for playback. Looks way more professional and it's easier and more organized.

If you're looking for something that is over-priced but work great for this sort of thing, take a look at the 360 Systems Instant Replay. It's a cool playback box, but it's pricey.

If you have a reliable ipod (well, or other Mp3 player for that matter,) you could make a special mix on your computer and put it onto your device.

Put your backing tracks on the left channel, and put a click track on the right channel. Get a simple splitter from radioshack to split the Mp3 players stereo output into 2 mono signals and then send this to your PA, etc
