Where Do I Begin?

So I want to record a really long song (72 mins to be exact.) It would be nice if I could make it continuous on my hard drive. So what I need to know is "how much space does 8 24 bit stereo tracks take up per minute

Is there any thing wrong with recording to a slave drive instead of a master? I have a 13 gig ultra wide scsi drive and I want to use this as my storage drive for my song. Win 98 will be on C:, and the scsi on D: Is this a problem.

I'd like to find a software based drum machine, where do I go ?

For the second, let me clear something up...a "slave" (gad, do I hate that terminology) drive is no slower than a "master" drive, it's a hardware thing but doesn't affect speed.
