VS-880EX compression? / upgrading hardrive

I am considering purchasing a vs-880. I have found a used one and need to determine if the hardrive (which I believe is only 500+ meg) can be upgraded to the 2.1 gig.

In addition, I am trying to find out if the on-board signal processing has a compressor. If not does some one know what the set-up would be using something like an Alesis nanocompressor.

go to the tradingpost and look for recorders, you'll most likely find just as good or better of a deal on a used 880 or 840.
