Volume Boosting

So I have Maschine and love it. I have one problem though. After I export the file and I play it the volume is much lower than the average song. I put the gain up to the point in which the volume is starting to peak and its just to quiet. I have Wave-pad Editor and have tried amplifying the file, but it just distorts the sound. Any ideas what I could do to get that normal volume?

You are at "normal" volume. The typical commercial recording these days is NOT at normal volume.

Long story short, browse the mastering forum. It's (mastering in general) isn't necessarily about volume, but it's the part in the production process where the final volume is established.

If ramming it into a limiter is distorting it, keep in mind that the vast (VAST) majority of recording out there simply don't have the "volume potential" that others do -- even with an experienced engineer and top-quality processing (although that could significantly improve the chances - but that's really for another thread).

I wouldn't recommend any software boosting program. and if you go that way.Don't over do it!
