Tascam 414 Question on Bouncing Tracks...

hey,
Is that 414MK the same thing as a 414MKII ? If so I got one ups yesterday and had bounced tracks by thismorning. noy hard at all. If you have gotten far enough to get 3 tracks you need to bounce to 1, say 1,2and 3 to track 4, thenset 1,2,3 INPUT to TAPE, PAN all the way to the right, Channel faders 7-8.
Master fader7-8
press MONITOR L-R on
other 2 MONITOR switches off
set track 4 record function switch to R
track 4 REC indicator will blink
press play
adjust 1,2,3 for your mix
stop, rewind
press RECORD and PLAY
RECORD INDICATOR lights up solid and 1,2,&3 should be going down on track 4.
keep 1,2 &3 levels at about =3. When done set track 4 RECORD FUNCTION to SAFE.
push MONITOR button EFFECT@/TAPE CUE on and the other 2 off.
use effect/tape que to monitor track 4 . if satified with results, rerecord over 1,2 & 3.
Worked for me anyway. If all else fails, Its' only about
1 1/2 pages in the manual.

Punkrawk,....great ! Now go to hitsquad.com and download the
"CD Wave Editor " under software catagory " Audio Recording "
and you can take the 414 master out into the line in on your soundcard and record your 4 track as a wave stereo wave file. If you want, you can put that back to 2 tracks on the 414,add 2more tracks and do it all over again. adds a layer of tape noise each time, but you can pile up tracks.
Or you could just take the wave you created and burn a audio CD.
Good luck.....Bubinski.
