Sustain pedal Kawai F30 never hits value 0 or 127. When releasing the pedal i can see in the MIDI Monitor application that its keeps sending values like "97,72,83,60,50,32,21,15,8,5,6,5,5,5,5.....".
It sends like 50 different values after simply releasing the pedal quickly.
When pressing down it ranges from a value of 100-120.

When i use my other Korg pedal i simply shows 0 or 127 when released/pressed.

Any help is appreciated. When recording in Logic pro X and garage band the pedal is not working properly, works intermittently..

Should my pedal hit 0/127? Is there something wrong with my F30?

Gear:

Keyboard - Kawai VPC1
Pedal - Kawai F3 (half-pedal supported)
PC - Macbook pro 2017
Sound card - Roland Quad-capture

It sounds like a switch contact in the pedal. A sustain pedal should be on or off, 0 or 127.

Found this, have a read is it the same as your problem.

Ah! If an electronic fault I might have some clue! Often connectors, DINs, jacks are mounted directly to the PCB. That is fine SO LONG as they are also bolted to a chassis to prevent relative movement. Sadly this is not always done and the joints crack. A whizz over with a solder iron fixes it. USB ports can do same.

Had it on an Evo Ek49 controller.

Dave.
