Recording/Mixing/Master Reading Material

I'm fairly new to home recording and most of the techniques and what not that I've learned have just been from trial and error. Can anybody recommend any reading material (books, websites, etc.) that I can study up on to improve my techniques and abilities to mix and master better tracks? Obviously I'll be somewhat limited by equipment (use a Tascam DP-01FX and a couple mics, and do most of my mixing on it). Would also appreciate any suggestions for programs (preferably free or not too expensive) where I can do my mixing and mastering (right now I use Audacity).
