question on recording to tape

if i want to record from cd to tape, do i need anything special or just a boombox that has a cd and tape player? if that's it, do i just push play on the cd part and record on the tape player? i know i'm totally clueless with this stuff, but i'd really appreciate your help. thanx
 
yep, pressing play on the cd player and record on the tape recorder of the boombox is how you record to tape. A new cassette out of the package will have what's called leader tape at the beginning.. music will not record onto the leader tape, so you'll want to press record on the tape recorder first, wait about 10 seconds and then press play on the cd player.
