'Possible' Bridge Complications

I recently purchased a Gotoh 510UB Hard Zinc bridge a few days ago, and I suddenly realised that it's sort of a bridge and tailpiece built into one from the looks of it? My question is, if I install this on my les paul, will it completely eliminate the need for my tailpiece completely, just leaving an useless piece of hardware there?
 
That's what I was wondering, cause it combines the two pieces into one, so I'm gonna have that stupid tailpiece there just being totally useless.
 
Unless I'm missing something, it looks like just the saddle to me. Still needs the tailpiece, and they sell those separately. On my LP, if there's no strings through the tailpiece it just falls off, so if I'm wrong about the saddle, you don't have to worry about the tailpiece hanging out looking stupid. It'll just be the studs. ;)
