Another newbie question, I have a Pyle PT659DU usb tape deck that I have connected to my Mac via usb port. The deck has no head phone jack (port) and I do not know how to hear my cassettes played back in real time "on my Mac" What do I need to do in order to hear and be able to stop the tape and turn over to side 2 so I can continue recording to software for editing? Then I can save edited audio file to mp3 format and convert. I am using Adobe Audition for Audio editing software. Please help me understand what to do.

Thank you,

Click the speaker Icon top right. You will see a drop down list of available devices. Your external device should be one of them. Select it, and you should hear the sound. if you use the drop down option sound preferences, you can set levels and things. Your recording software will also need setting to the same input source, if it doesn't do it automatically. It may use a generic driver - so don't assume it will mention the name. Audition is fine for this.
