My Tascam 488 MKII speed playback varies

Hello everyone,

I just bought a Tascam 488 MKII and everything seems to work perfectly except for one small disturbing detail: when I listen to my recordings (on tape mode), the speed playback varies slightly after several rewinds... In a completely random way. The first time, after 3 or 4 plays, it slowed down. Another time, it accelerated. I do not find any logical reason for these changes and suddenly I worry about the state of my console ... An idea?
