Microphone won't record

I am using Cubase Le 5 with Alesis Multimix8.
XLR connected into Mic 1 with Phantom Power on.
Operating System is Windows 7

So basically when I go to record, no signal is being picked up. I can hear myself in the microphone but won't pick anything up when recording. I cannot post some screenshots to show my VST connections because of my low posts. I am pretty sure everything is correct.

If you need any more specifics, please let me know. I am trying to record ASAP and need help!!

I guess is that there are settings in Cubase you need to deal with. For example, somewhere within Cubase you need to set the Multimix as the device, then where you arm tracks, you need to point that to the Multimix channels you want to record. I don't know Cubase, so you will have to do a bit of searching around.
