First of all let me tell you what I use:

Ok,now on to the problem!
Whenever I play any song that is kinda 'fast' and I must hit many things together,M-Audio at random (yet usually) times stops producing sounds via Addictive Drums until I stop for about 2-3 seconds!I have this problem for about a year,but now that I am starting to record my progress,it really gets on my nerves!I've tried with Ezdrummer or Cubase but still happens the same!
I've even sent back the cable to the store I bought it and got another,but I still have this problem...But I remember (not 100%!) that when I first bought it,it used to work fine!
