imovie videos for youtbue and garage band for audio help ?

hi guys been trying to make youtube videos for youtube, not going to well :/.
ive been using imovie to record them on my imac with the built in web cam and using garage band for the audio so i can add reverb and tamper with the eq etc.
but the problem im having is that when i try and sync the two together they fine at the start then they just seem to get lost down the line ?
any help would be great :)

ps i do 3 claps on the audio and video so i can match them up :) cheers thanks
 
Seems like samplerate mismatch - video sound samplerate is typically 48khz, you might be recording your audio at 44,1khz.
Converting the audio file could fix the problem, however I have had some issues with that.
