Tip #1: Breathe "naturally"
Tip #2: Keep your tongue on the floor of your mouth
Tip #3: Memorise your music

Really? If you want to sing better, get a decent teacher. The advice above is flawed without context. Plenty of well known (and good) singers do none of those!!
 
What I believe, it is a time in thing. Put your time in. 10,000 hours should do it.

Rob is correct. None of that stuff matters. A great vocalist can sing a song with his teeth clenched and sound amazing. The breathing is acting and not natural.

Memory? YES a piece of music will sound different when read off a page vs from rehearsal. Like acting you want to watch the actors read from the script, or play it out? Play it.

Voice is a instrument you play blind. There are so many ways to do it, so many styles. Find yours.

adding, the time I spent in bars and clubs, not one vocalist sang less than 100%. Blow hard. However ,at no time should there be pain. They need to hear you over the room. Quiet little breathy mumbles are not ideal. Take a shot at the bar, and belt it like a drunkard.

As both rob and Lazer say......none of the things you mentioned are of any major importance. First of all...........and likely foremost......get others opinions............and not your family or friends. 90% of people will not tell you if you can't sing. Secondly....and this is a must.....you need to consistently record yourself singing and LISTEN to yourself with an OPEN mind. Are you improving? Are you understanding your errors or weaknesses? Is your pitch accurate?

AND......if you're serious........and want proper guidance and input and training.......get a professional vocal coach...........at least for a while....to see where you stand.

Anybody can sing, and improve. It takes time. Train, to use the force. Luke went to Daggobah studied with Yoda. The Rey force is a lie, she did no training and for that was denied a heros journey.

The Beak force is real, all of it.
