Help with my headphones and playback...

This is pretty strange. My studio headphones work well, you can hear sounds on both sides when just using it to listen to music on computer and iPod. But when I speak on my mic, you can only hear the playback on one side. What is the problem?

I tried pluggin' the headphones into the 1/8 in. slot on the speakers too but I got the same results.

I am using a Tascam US-144 and FL Studio 9 XXL, and sometimes Audacity. The sound works for both sides for sounds from the computer, only doesn't on the playback.

Turn the "Mono" switch to "on".

Oops, that's because I didn't read carefully and missed that it was for playback. The mono switch is for monitoring a live source plugged onto only one input.

Are you recording a mono input to a stereo track? If so it might only come out one side. Record mono sources to a mono file. If you have mono sources recorded to stereo files either convert them to mono (choosing the side with audio) or use a balance control to put it in both channels.
