I have a focusrite 2i2 audio interface, which works in Ableton... but I'm not sure how to start a recording... I'm used to audiacity, which is a lot simpler! I am using a Beringher C-1 condenser mic, with my acoustic guitar... I have been in options>preferences and selected ASIO and Focusrite USB... But I don't know how to actually record? When I turn my monitor and Gain up on the input, the light goes green, so the mic and interface is fine... Ableton is just confusing me!
Thanks,
Brandon.

You have to do two things, arm the clip (record on the track itself), then hit record (from the top), it will count you in. Turn on monitor on auto if you want to hear the sound. If you are in arrangement view, it will look like a wave file across the recording filed like a traditional DAW. If you are in session view, you will have to play the clip/scene.

Hope that gets you moving. I do recommend you read the manual as it has a lot of features that are not usual DAW features.
