Ok, so I have a four person Death metal/Nu metal band and I wanna record some of our stuff (like a demo) to give out to people. I have a super old Boss BR-8 and I was wondering if I could use that and how to use it better. Also suggestions on mics for the drums would be awesome.

Kaybee, you can record on your Boss, and you probably have by now, but you will be limited. The best way to get a good sound on the boss is to plug in a couple of decent dynamic mics (sm 57 or similar) and record a live jam. Then, keep recording and jamming and adjusting the placement of the mics untill you like what is recorded. This will make your band better and give you insight into how to record. Otherwise, the best bet is to get your whole band to fork out cash to record at a studio, or to make your own studio. I prefer making my own studio. Good luck.
