I'm new to recording and lost in the haze of terminology and concepts. Looking for a book that will take me from point zero to being able to use Cakewalk to it's fullest capacities. Any advice would be welcome.

A book was suggested to me, called "Cakewalk Power" by Scott Garrigus ... ISBN: 11-929684-02-5, May, 2000, 448 pages. 've ordered it and expecting to have it i a couple days. If you'll kee in touch by E-mail at Sentry706@aol.com,I'll let you know if it's the answer we seek, and how to link up with the ThomsonCourse people who sell it. Keep the faith.

Cakewalk Power is an old book, sorry to say... it covers Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 -- SONAR and the newer versions of Home Studio (which are SONAR Lite) have rather different interfaces and lots of additional capabilities that won't be covered in that book... turn it around and swap it for SONAR Power.

Hi Everybody,

Yep, Cakewalk Power has been out for quite a while now. If you are using Home Studio 2004, then you should get my Sonar 2 Power book instead. It's written for Sonar 2, but HS 2004 is just a scaled-down version of Sonar 2, so most of the material in the book will be useful. You can get the Sonar 2 Power book for 30% off via my site:

Best regards,
Scott
