Alesis io2 and latency

hey i just got an Alesis io2. Im plugging my electric into it and using it with native instruments Guitar Rig. The problem is that im getting too much latency and I dont understand why. With a buffer of 150 and number of buffer at 6 (and as it is this is not really big enough), I am still >20ms. I am using the Alesis USB Asio driver which came on the cd.

My laptop is pretty new too, its a DUO 2.2ghz, 3gb ram, vista.

Any idea whats going on here???

Do you have ASIO 4 all?
It helps decrease latency methinks.

try asio4all... and configure your audio hardware setup. In my case i am not using asio4all. I am using asio directx. all i need to do is to clik the type of input. mono R or mono L mic. or stereo mic. then clik type of output ... speakers realtek hd or io2 speaker out.
