Adding external sources to a midi track

Is it possible to play an electric guitar and a MIDI track at the same time and record both as one?
Hope this makes sense. I haven't a notion about this stuff.
PS: I'm not looking for a high quality output. I have a SoundBlaster Audigy if this helps.
Thanks

Record both AT ONCE, yes. As one track, no. I assume you have a software sequencer (like Cubase, Sonar, Home Studio, etc.) that can record MIDI? If so, you can record as many tracks simultaneously as the Audigy will allow (I haven't worked with one myself, but I think its a safe bet it can handle simultaneous MIDI and audio). If you seriously want to get into recording, start saving for a better-quality soundcard/audio interface.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, read through this guide:

It may take a few hours overall, but you'll have a much better starting point.

The MIDI section should help clarify my response.

Hmmm...

LFO - I think he means record both to 'one' track as in - make a stereo mix...
If this is what you want to do - yes that's possible - But you have to be playing the guitar into your tape recorder WHILE the MIDI track is playing to get a final stereo mix / if you don't have an audio recorder...

Hope this helps...
