adding effects in real time

I am having a hard time adding a simple delay to a track I want to record.I'm hoping someone can help me.thanks in advance.I have a Zoom r24
 
Howdy. This may help. You can skip through the 25 minutes of unrelated rambling - go to the 26:19 mark where he actually begins with adding effects. He's using Reverb and Chorus but you follow the same steps for Delay - - Delay is mixed in with the Chorus settings.
